The blue tent at YMCA Comprehensive Institute today is full of colored charts and materials that early childhood Development students of quarters six and four, both at certificate and diploma level, have done so far in their journey.

From handmade aids, bottle tops, stones and wood to beautiful Manila charts, alphabet birds counting card and model classroom, the work is really shining that their teachers and supervisors never expected such from them.

The display shows that ECD is not all about playing with kids but also creating, patience, and building a foundation for children’s future. Because using the materials makes a child brave and skilled since it’s from local materials.

“Sacrifices, both financially and time-wise, are the best key towards finishing the course,” said an ECD student. “We are trained to teach children not by theory alone, creating things they can see and touch.”

“This is such a nice work that we never expected them to do; some never showed their capabilities at the start; they were so lazy and blunt,” said Mr.Sebanenya George, one of their lecturers. The supervisors are praising both teachers for being available to the students in research and the students for holding the pen to the end.

Visitors were left stunning for the good colorful work that was produced by the students” it is such a nice work with a lot of creativity.” Others are also planning to bring their children to the YMCA after seeing the good work the students produced.
