The Iganga one magistrate’s court has remanded a 40year old man in Iganga Prison over allegations that he repeatedly defiled his 8-year-old daughter.  The suspect, Richard Magino, appeared before Iganga grade one Magistrate Ali Tibenkana on Thursday for the mention of the case.

Prosecution alleges that Magino defiled his daughter at their home in Igulusi village Nakalama sub county, Iganga District.
According to the allegations before court, Magino had been living with the child after separating from his wife several months ago.

The mater came to light last week after residents noticed that the girl was experiencing difficulty walking.
The child reportedly told residents that her father had sexually abused her several times at their home.

Magistrate Tibenkana said the offence was capital in nature and remanded Magino to Iganga Prison until 28th, October, 2026 when he is expected to return to court.
Magino has not yet entered a plea to the allegations.
