Zari Hassan has responded to journalist Simon Kaggwa Njala’s claims that there is a probability of her ex-husband, Ivan Semwanga, is still alive.
The NBS TV journalist called the late tycoon’s 2017 death a “mystery,” highlighting how some aspects of the circumstances surrounding his death, including a non-existent medical report, have continued to raise questions.
While speaking to Media, Zari Hassan maintained that Ivan Semwanga died in South Africa and his remains were returned to Uganda.
She goes on to reveal that another post-mortem was carried out on his body upon return to Uganda, and even his own sons washed his body as the Buganda culture dictates.
Zari also questions Simon Kaggwa Njala’s intentions with his quest for records about a dead man, noting that he is just idle and broke.
I found out that wn yousaid.
Simon says he contacted the hospital in South Africa and asked for records as who?asks Zari. Hospitals here are professional. You cannot just randomly call and ask for medical reports, and theech Semwanga did he ask for? Often, when we go abroad, we change names. How can you even hunt for a dead man’s records? What for, really?
We, the bereaved, know that he died; we confirmed, zipped up the body bag, and worked on the paperwork to return his remains to Uganda. Even in Uganda, they did a postmortem report, and his own sons cleaned his body as per the culture tradition. So, old man, what is your concern here?
